Wind Ensemble piece I wrote for my old High School Band.It was an interesting challenge writing for musicians who don't have a lot of experience playing their instruments. I kept the composition as simple as I could: using simple notes and rhythms with a lot of the complexity in the dynamics. In hind sight I'm not sure if this was a good move since dynamics aren't usually the first thing that young musicians think about; I think they mostly get ignored.
I don't have a recording of this. I haven't even listened to it since I wrote it. Mr. Spiller was gracious for letting me write a piece for his band and if nothing else, I was thankful for the exercise.
