Piano Trio

First composition in college and third in my life.

This was the first piece I composed in college. It was the third piece I composed in my life. (The first two were part of the Music Alive! camp I attended in St. Louis in the summer of 2003/2004.)

It was written as part of Composition class at MU taught by Stefan Freund. He'd lecture about composing and our assignment was to compose a piece. We'd have occasional 1:1 lessons with him in his office where he'd help us work out the arrangement/orchestration/notation. After a few weeks he'd get a few musicians to read through our pieces in class and record them.

The classes were Composition I and Composition II. Each was a semester long and both are usually taken over the course of your Sophmore year. You end up writing six pieces in total.
